Ce volume thématique se concentre sur la disparition de la culture Kura-Araxes et le début de l’âge du Bronze moyen, une période comprise entre environ 2600 et 2000 avant notre ère. Les spécialistes réévaluent l’attribution chrono-culturelle de plusieurs complexes dans le Sud-Caucase mais également au delà (Iran, Levant Sud), ainsi que la chronologie absolue de toute la séquence. Les douze articles offrent un aperçu nuancé des changements et des continuités d’une période cruciale entre l’âge du Bronze ancien et l’âge du Bronze moyen.
